The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is collaborating with local small business owners to offer a ‘Suwon Pay 10+10 Event,’ providing a 10% discount when paying with Suwon Pay, running until March.
On the 7th, Suwon City announced that to revitalize the sluggish local economy, it will hold an event where customers can receive up to a 10% discount when paying with Suwon Pay at participating merchants in the 10+10 event. Participating businesses can choose from three discount rates: 5%, 7%, or 10%.
To stimulate the local economy, Suwon City has increased the Suwon Pay recharge limit to 500,000 KRW this year and raised the incentive to 10%. During the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays in January and October, the incentive is increased to 20%.
By recharging Suwon Pay and receiving a 10% incentive, and then using Suwon Pay at participating merchants to get up to an additional 10% discount, customers can effectively enjoy a maximum 20% discount.
The list of participating merchants and their respective discount rates for the Suwon Pay 10+10 Event can be found by searching ‘Suwon Pay 10+10’ on the Suwon City website (www.suwon.go.kr) or by scanning the QR code with a smartphone. Businesses wishing to participate can apply through the ‘Application Submission’ board on Saebit Toktok.
The Suwon Pay 10+10 Event was initiated based on a proposal from the Suwon Small Business Association.
A representative from the Small Business Association stated, "We hope that this additional discount event, held alongside the expansion of Suwon Pay incentives, will help breathe new life into the stagnant local economy."
A Suwon City official said, "With the synergy effect of the expanded Suwon Pay incentives and the additional discount event voluntarily participated in by small business owners, we expect citizens to enjoy the pleasure of discounts and small business owners to experience increased sales."
