Re-selection of Dongdaemun-gu Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center as Seoul Medical Tourism Cooperation Institution

Strengthening Position as a Wellness Tourism Destination Offering Oriental Healing and Relaxation

The Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center (Seoul Yakryeongsi Korean Medicine Museum) located in the Seoul Yakryeongsi Korean Medicine Industry Special Zone in Dongdaemun-gu has been reselected as a ‘Seoul Metropolitan Medical Tourism Cooperation Institution’ organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Foundation. The term extends until 2027.

The ‘Seoul Metropolitan Medical Tourism Cooperation Institution Selection Project’ aims to create a safe and reliable medical tourism environment in Seoul by supporting excellent ▲medical institutions ▲foreign patient attraction institutions ▲tourism service institutions.

This year, about 260 institutions applied, and a total of 180 institutions were finally selected. Among local government institutions, the Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center was the only one selected as a ‘Tourism Service Institution - Wellness Facility.’

With this selection, the Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center will receive various support such as medical tourism promotion, domestic and international marketing, networking among cooperation institutions, and tourist experience fees.

A center official stated, “We will do our best to inform domestic and international tourists about the value of Korean medicine and provide a special experience of healing and revitalization through Korean medicine.”
