11 Warmth Charging Stations Installed at Geumcheon-gu Bus Stops... Fully Operational for Cold Wave Preparedness

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has installed 'Warmth Charging Stations,' cold wave mitigation facilities, at 11 bus stops with high pedestrian and waiting populations to protect residents from the cold wave.

The facilities combine functionality and eco-friendliness by using modular materials that are excellent in insulation, durability, and reusability. Additionally, they are designed to minimize inconvenience to pedestrians and to enhance safety by allowing quick repairs in case of damage.

The Warmth Charging Stations have been installed at 11 major bus stops, including Gasan Digital Complex Station, Doksan Station, and Geumcheon-gu Office Station, consisting of 6 standalone units, 4 attached units, and 1 window-type unit.

The district plans to thoroughly manage the facilities through regular weekly inspections and occasional maintenance for efficient operation of the Warmth Charging Stations. Key inspection items include checking for damage, pedestrian passage obstruction, and illegal occupation, prioritizing residents' safety and convenience.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We have prepared the Warmth Charging Stations so that residents can briefly escape the cold while waiting for the bus during the cold winter," adding, "We will continue to develop life-centered administrative services that residents can feel."

In addition to installing the Warmth Charging Stations, the district is promoting various projects to minimize cold wave damage during winter. For vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone and people with disabilities, it provides home nursing and regular welfare checks, as well as distributing cold wave prevention kits and heating equipment.

Moreover, when a cold wave advisory is issued, the district operates 50 cold wave shelters at senior centers, community centers, and welfare centers to ensure residents can stay safely. Night shelters and emergency evacuation centers using bathhouses and lodging facilities have also been additionally prepared to allow 24-hour use even in emergencies.
