Actor Lee Won-jong raised his voice by attending a rally calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol. On the 5th, Lee Won-jong attended the rally held in the Hannam-dong area of Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and gave an interview to Minjung's Voice. When told that "citizens have been holding a sit-in protest for 2 nights and 3 days," Lee said, "This is all powerless people like us can do," adding, "We have to step up every time, and because you are by our side, we can overcome this. I think it gives us great strength."

He continued, "Protecting democracy is not easy. Who would have thought that after everything seemed settled, such things would happen again?" He added, "One person, like a loach stirring muddy water, will require time and procedures until things calm down. Stay strong, and as a citizen and comrade, I will stand by your side." When asked about his mindset for coming out, he replied, "As one of the people, if we don’t fill the number of participants here, I wouldn’t feel at ease, and how could I rest warmly on a day like this?" He added, "I hope to be of even a little help."

Regarding the execution of the arrest warrant by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO), he said, "I hope the head of the CIO lives up to the position if he is in that seat," adding, "Why would he be in that position? I hope he clearly understands the reason why the position was created and fulfills his duties." He further warned, "If he, being a fellow prosecutor, steps back even a little, the police and our people will not stay still." He added, "We must see this as standing on the edge of a cliff. If you fall to the left from the wall, you become a collaborator with the forces of rebellion, but if you take the other path, you become someone devoted to democracy."

Finally, Lee Won-jong directed his words to President Yoon, saying, "Isn’t it embarrassing? Just step down. Everyone is struggling." He added, "The country is offering free meals, so I hope you just stay there. Stop now. It’s disgusting." Earlier, on the 28th of last month, Lee also took the stage at a rally calling for impeachment held near Anguk Station, saying, "The person who orders shooting at the lawmakers elected by the people is still alive and well," and "We must remember until the end and find and punish them to the end."
