Recruiting 41 Members for 'Our Neighborhood Care Team' Until January 10, Apply in Person at Desired Local Community Center
Thorough Welfare Checks Including Home Visits for Socially Isolated and High-Risk Solitary Death Households
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) is recruiting the ‘Our Neighborhood Care Team’ until January 10 to check on socially isolated households and prevent solitary deaths.
The ‘Our Neighborhood Care Team’ consists of residents who are well acquainted with local conditions and take full responsibility for checking in on socially isolated single-person households, including those at risk of solitary death, by phone or direct visits.
When checking in, if any unusual situation occurs with the subject, the team promptly arranges emergency hospital transport and immediately informs the local community center staff to respond quickly to the crisis. They also continuously work to identify households at risk of solitary death.
This year, a total of 41 members of the ‘Our Neighborhood Care Team’ are expected to be active. Any resident who is interested in helping neighbors in need and passionate about promoting social welfare can participate as a member of the ‘Our Neighborhood Care Team.’
The activity period is from January to December, with a work schedule of 4 hours a day, 3 days a week, totaling 48 hours per month, and a maximum activity allowance of 396,000 KRW will be provided. The district plans to conduct professional training and meetings in February to enhance expertise and capabilities.
Those wishing to participate in the ‘Our Neighborhood Care Team’ can submit application documents such as a resume and self-introduction letter in person to the community center where they wish to work. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Welfare Policy Division of Seongdong-gu Office for detailed guidance.
Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, “The ‘Our Neighborhood Care Team’ plays a significant role in addressing welfare blind spots by carefully monitoring socially isolated households and neighbors at risk of solitary death,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen the social safety net to create a happy Seongdong where all residents can thrive.”
