Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will renovate aging children's parks to ensure that children can play safely.

Children's parks have high demand for play, but the facilities such as playground equipment were severely aged and needed refurbishment.

Accordingly, the district is investing 2.31 billion KRW to refurbish eight children's parks within the district.

Last year, five children's parks were newly renovated: Arang Children's Park in Songpa 1-dong, Cheonsang Children's Park and Dodam Children's Park in Macheon 1-dong, Gaemi Children's Park in Geoyeo 2-dong, and Hallim Children's Park in Jangji-dong.

They transformed from monotonous and outdated playgrounds to fun and safe play environments by replacing them with diverse and unique playground equipment and repairing aging facilities.

In particular, Arang Children's Park installed the latest play facilities favored by children and completely improved the park's facilities such as walking paths, exercise equipment, and rest areas, enhancing its completeness as a safe playground where children can freely and enjoyably play.

This year, the district plans to remodel three parks: Pyeonghwa Small Park in Bangi 2-dong, Bbungbat Children's Park in Jamsilbon-dong, and Neulbom Children's Park in Jangji-dong.

Pyeonghwa Small Park will be reborn as a leisure and relaxation space where people can heal with nature in the city by creating green resting areas and walking paths in addition to simple exercise spaces. Bbungbat Children's Park and Neulbom Children's Park will replace old playground equipment with play facilities preferred by children to meet their play demands.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “I hope the newly renovated children's parks become safe play spaces where children can freely run and develop creativity. We will continue to do our best to maintain children's parks and small parks so that not only children but all residents can use them safely and comfortably.”
