Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting participating organizations for the ‘Environmental Conservation Fund Non-Profit Private Organization Support Project’ until the 24th of this month.
The eligible applicants are non-profit private organizations registered in the province as of the announcement date (January 6, 2025). Gyeonggi Province will provide up to 30 million KRW to the selected organizations.
The supported projects include 13 areas such as ▲education for climate change response and carbon neutrality ▲training climate action activists ▲ecosystem monitoring, conservation activities, and restoration projects ▲reducing household waste ▲waste collection activities and monitoring illegal dumping ▲environmental sharing markets ▲bird collision prevention ▲greenhouse gas diagnosis consulting for non-industrial sectors ▲ESG management consulting for workplaces ▲air quality improvement projects ▲prevention and treatment of environmentally related diseases ▲chemical substance safety management ▲and other projects related to climate and environmental conservation.
The selection criteria consist of 100 points in total: 20 points for organizational capability, 60 points for project content, and 20 points for budget feasibility, with additional bonus or penalty points applied. The Gyeonggi Province Environmental Conservation Fund Operation Deliberation Committee will make the final decision on support eligibility and funding amounts, with final selections made in early March.
Top-performing organizations from last year’s project evaluation may receive bonus points. To ensure fair support opportunities for new organizations, those selected for the Environmental Conservation Fund support project for 3 to 4 consecutive years will receive a 3-point deduction.
Organizations that have received support for 5 consecutive years will be mandatorily excluded from eligibility for one year.
A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "We expect this project to revitalize environmental conservation activities in the private sector," and added, "We hope for the interest and participation of many non-profit private organizations leading climate action in response to the climate crisis."
