The 'Samsung Press Conference' held a day before the official opening of CES 2025 was attended by about 1,300 people, including global media and business partners.
At this event, Samsung Electronics unveiled its vision for 'Home AI' and other solutions under the theme "AI for All: Everyday, Everywhere," providing user-tailored solutions.
'Home AI' not only distinguishes and understands various situations and patterns in the daily lives of family members, including work and leisure, but also analyzes household objects and spaces through 'Spatial AI' to propose more advanced solutions to users.
Samsung Electronics also introduced 'SmartThings Ambient Sensing' technology based on Spatial AI. 'SmartThings Ambient Sensing' is a technology that detects and analyzes not only users' device usage patterns but also movements and surrounding sounds through connected devices, enabling summarization of home information, alerts for situations requiring action, and device control suggestions according to the situation.
Samsung Electronics further announced plans to significantly enhance usability by applying the AI voice assistant 'Bixby' across the entire Home AI ecosystem. The upgraded AI voice assistant Bixby can distinguish the voices of family members, providing optimal solutions tailored to each individual. Additionally, Samsung strengthens synergy among products by applying Samsung’s integrated software experience, 'One UI,' from mobile devices to TVs and home appliances. Moreover, software upgrades will be supported for up to seven years, greatly improving the 'Home AI' experience.
Robust security technology is also crucial for Home AI. Accordingly, Samsung Electronics introduced enhanced security technologies based on the security solution 'Samsung Knox.' Through blockchain technology, 'Samsung Knox Matrix' protects the home, personal data, and interconnected devices from security threats, expanding from mobile and TV to all Wi-Fi-enabled home appliances.
The 'Knox Matrix Dashboard,' which displays all devices connected to Knox Matrix at a glance, and 'Samsung Knox Vault,' which stores users' sensitive information such as PINs, passwords, and biometric data in a separate security chip for stronger protection, will also be expanded beyond mobile and TV to some home appliances, including new Family Hub models.
In addition, Samsung Electronics unveiled new products. The 'Galaxy Book5 Pro' and 'Book360,' equipped with both 'Galaxy AI' and Microsoft's 'Copilot+ PC' features, offer an enhanced AI experience. These models provide various AI functions such as 'AI Select,' which allows quick and easy searching of images or text on the screen, and 'Photo Remaster,' which sharpens old or low-quality photos, delivering a new level of productivity.
Samsung also introduced 'Samsung Health,' which helps families manage their health effectively. The evolved 'Samsung Health' analyzes health indicators collected through personal wearable devices like the Galaxy Ring and Watch using AI technology, providing customized insights for sleep and diet management to help users better manage their health.
Samsung Electronics announced that it will apply AI functions across its TVs, starting with new TV models in 2025, through 'Samsung Vision AI,' which anticipates users' needs, preferences, and intentions to provide personalized experiences.
Accordingly, users will enjoy various customized experiences offered by 'Samsung Vision AI,' such as 'Click to Search,' which finds and provides desired information and content with a single click on the content being viewed; 'Real-time Translation,' which provides subtitles in Korean for foreign language content in real time; and 'Generative Wallpapers,' which create images reflecting users' tastes and preferences.
Furthermore, Samsung Electronics will expand the 'Samsung Art Store' subscription service for artworks, which began with the lifestyle TV 'The Frame,' to Neo QLED and QLED models this year. This allows more users to enjoy over 3,000 artworks at home through their screens.
Samsung Electronics also showcased various new screen home appliances equipped with touchscreens to enhance connectivity and convenience. Users can view and control connected devices in the home at a glance through screen home appliances, as well as enjoy various everyday convenience features such as watching videos, listening to music, and answering calls.
In particular, the new Bespoke refrigerator model 'Bespoke AI Hybrid,' equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen, adds the 'AI Vision Inside' feature, which automatically recognizes ingredients inside the refrigerator and creates a food list. Additionally, Samsung Electronics announced that it will introduce a service in the U.S. market in 2025, developed in collaboration with the American online grocery delivery company 'Instacart,' allowing users to immediately purchase missing ingredients through the refrigerator's built-in screen.
