"Please Use It for the Bereaved Families of the Disaster"... Another Anonymous Donation Angel Donates 10 Million Won

Anonymous Donations Made During Social Disasters
Cumulative Donations Exceed 680 Million Won Since 2017

Every year during the year-end and New Year holidays, as well as during social disasters, a donation angel from the Gyeongnam region who has sent donations anonymously has extended their compassion to the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster that occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do.

"Please Use It for the Bereaved Families of the Disaster"... Another Anonymous Donation Angel Donates 10 Million Won Provided by Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea

On the 6th, the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea announced that an anonymous donor donated 10 million won at around 1:10 PM, saying, "Please use this for supporting the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster." According to the Community Chest, a box containing 10 million won in donations was placed in front of the office donation box along with a handwritten letter and a single chrysanthemum flower.

The letter read, "I offer my deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the Muan Airport passenger plane disaster," and continued, "I cannot find words to comfort the grieving families, and my heart is heavy. Although this is a small amount, I hope it will be used for the bereaved families. Stay strong. One day in January 2025," written in handwriting.

The Community Chest suspects that the donor is the same anonymous donation angel who has sent donations every year during sharing campaigns and social disasters, judging by the letter ending with "One day" and the handwriting. This anonymous donor has been known to send donations not only during the year-end and New Year hope sharing campaigns since 2017 but also during social disasters such as the 2019 Jinju apartment fire, the 2020 COVID-19 and heavy rain damage, the 2022 Gangwon and Gyeongbuk wildfires, the Ukraine war damage, the Seoul Itaewon disaster, the 2023 T?rkiye-Syria earthquake damage, and heavy rain damage.

Recently, three weeks ago on December 16 last year, the donor secretly left a shopping bag containing 60,547,260 won, asking for it to be used for mothers and babies from financially struggling families. The total accumulated donations sent by this person over the past eight years amount to approximately 687 million won.

A representative of the Community Chest said, "We will do our best to ensure that the precious heart sent by the donor is well delivered to the bereaved families who have suffered sorrow."
