The Joint Investigation Headquarters (Joint HQ), consisting of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (PCC) and the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters (NIH), sought to extend the validity period of the arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol just hours before it expired.

The PCC stated on the 6th, "The Joint HQ has re-requested the Seoul Western District Court to extend the validity period of the arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol."

On the 31st of last month, the PCC obtained an arrest warrant for President Yoon from the Seoul Western District Court, which was valid until midnight of that day.

On the 3rd, the fourth day after the warrant was issued, the PCC, together with the police participating in the Joint HQ, attempted to execute the warrant but failed due to obstruction by the Presidential Security Service.

It is expected that once the court issues the re-requested warrant, the PCC will again attempt to execute the arrest warrant for President Yoon.
