Superintendent Kim Daejung: "Regional and Global Coexistence... Glocal Education"
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced that it held the 2025 New Year’s Kickoff Ceremony on the morning of the 6th in the main conference room on the second floor of its headquarters, reaffirming its commitment to a ‘Great Transformation of Jeonnam Education’ and to realizing ‘glocal education where the region and the world coexist’.
The ceremony was attended by Superintendent Kim Daejung, senior executives, and newly transferred staff at the main office. Employees who could not attend in person participated via video system.

Through New Year’s greetings, attendees strengthened their resolve for the great transformation of Jeonnam education and the realization of glocal education. Previously, on the 2nd, Superintendent Kim Daejung and senior executives visited the Memorial Tower at Buhungsan in Okam-dong, Mokpo, reaffirming their commitment as they began the first work of the new year.
Superintendent Kim Daejung presented the following key tasks for realizing glocal education: ▲Revitalizing reading and humanities education ▲Education to realize the value of coexistence ▲Pioneering glocal career paths through bilingual education ▲Leading K-Edu with 2030 classrooms ▲Strengthening cooperation with the local community.
Superintendent Kim stated, “This year, Jeonnam education will help children in Jeonnam leap beyond the region into the world, growing into creative future talents with international sensibility and responsibility,” and added, “Once again, I pray for the souls of the educators and students who lost their lives in the Jeju Air passenger plane accident, and let us all overcome the deep pain in our hearts together.”
