"Future Schedule Should Be Set After National Normalization"
Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City, compared the withdrawal of the charge of rebellion against President Yoon Seok-yeol to jajangmyeon, stating that "the impeachment is invalid."
On the 6th, Mayor Hong opened his remarks on his social media account by saying, "The rebellion scheme disguised as legality led by Lee Jae-myung now requires the Constitutional Court to promptly open the door to normalization." He pointed out, "If the charge of rebellion, which was the core of the impeachment, has been withdrawn, then no matter how the impeachment bill is amended, there is no identity of the case, so the impeachment of Han Duck-soo is invalid, and the impeachment of President Yoon is also invalid," adding, "If you take jajang out of jajangmyeon, does it still become jajangmyeon?" He further claimed, "The suspension of President Yoon's duties is invalid, and the suspension of Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo's duties is also invalid."
Mayor Hong said, "The Constitutional Court should not just leave the political turmoil unattended but should first accept the injunction to normalize the country and then set the future schedule," adding, "That is the urgent task the Constitutional Court, the last bastion of constitutional protection, must undertake." He emphasized, "I hope the Constitutional Court no longer bears the stigma of being an accomplice in making Lee Jae-myung president," and urged, "Let's normalize the country first."
Earlier that day, he posted a message criticizing the withdrawal of the rebellion charge by the National Assembly's impeachment prosecution team. Mayor Hong said, "I have consistently opposed the impeachment," and added, "The charge of rebellion was never established and was merely a political frame imposed by Lee Jae-myung." He continued, "Suddenly, Lee Jae-myung is withdrawing the rebellion frame and saying he will reorganize the impeachment bill," and stated, "With the illegal issuance of an arrest warrant, the judge and the head of the Corruption Investigation Office are colluding to attempt the illegal arrest of President Yoon."
He also pointed out, "The country has become a lawless land. One person, Lee Jae-myung, is manipulating the entire judiciary and investigative agencies and even the National Assembly," and criticized, "Rather, the rebellion disguised as legality is being schemed and led by Lee Jae-myung." Furthermore, he said, "The media is full of criticism against President Yoon, and the collective madness of the leftists is reaching its peak," but added, "Just wait and see. We will not be one-sidedly defeated like during Park Geun-hye's time."
