Dongducheon City Hall's Ahn Hyun-jun Wins Overall Title at the All-Age Speed Skating Championships

Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 6th that Ahn Hyun-jun, a member of the city hall skating team, won the overall championship in the men's professional division at the 2025 National Men’s and Women’s Comprehensive Speed Skating Championships held for two days from the 2nd at the Taereung International Skating Rink.

Player Ahn Hyun-jun placed 2nd in the 500m (35.79 seconds), 1500m (1 minute 49.02 seconds), and 3000m (3 minutes 59.09 seconds), and 3rd in the 5000m (7 minutes 25.48 seconds), recording a total score of 156.526 points. He surpassed strong competitors such as Jung Yang-hoon (Gangwon Provincial Office, 158.909 points) and Ko Byung-wook (Uijeongbu City Hall, 163.288 points) to achieve the overall championship in the men's professional division.

In this competition, Ahn Hyun-jun achieved excellent results in all events, including his main event, the 1500m, marking a meaningful accomplishment that raises expectations for a medal at the 25th Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics in 2026.

Mayor Park Hyung-deok of Dongducheon City stated, “Ahn Hyun-jun’s overall victory is a valuable result achieved through relentless effort and passion. In particular, this victory will greatly support the ongoing efforts to attract an international speed skating rink to Dongducheon.” He added, “The city will continue to do its best to develop the skating team and attract skating rinks within the jurisdiction.”

Meanwhile, Dongducheon City has secured a site for constructing the international skating rink and is conducting an all-out campaign, including promoting the expansion development project of Soyosan, a sports leisure enjoyment space nearby.
