Busan Bumin Hospital announced on the 6th that it will hold the "January Bumin Hospital Health Class with Busan Citizens" at 2 p.m. on the 9th in the auditorium on the second basement floor.
The theme of this lecture is "Spinal diseases require appropriate treatment methods according to symptoms," and it is open to residents and patients.
A herniated disc is a condition in which the internal moisture of the soft, disc-shaped material containing water between the vertebral bodies decreases, cracks form on the outer wall, and the nucleus pulposus protrudes, compressing surrounding nerves and causing inflammation and pain. Symptoms include dull, aching pain and a heavy feeling in the lower back.
Also, a cervical disc herniation is a condition where the cervical spinal disc is damaged by chronic external force or sudden impact, causing part of the disc to protrude and compress nerves, resulting in severe pain in the neck or arms.
Symptoms include repeated stiffness and pain in the neck, followed by pulling and numbness in the arms and fingers.
Spinal diseases such as herniated discs in the lower back and neck can occur due to degenerative changes, so early diagnosis and active treatment from the initial stage are necessary.
In this health class, Kim Hwansu, head of the Spine Center, will serve as the lecturer and cover comprehensive information related to herniated discs in the lower back and neck. He will explain everything from early symptoms to treatment processes, disease prevention, pain management after procedures and surgeries, and treatment methods. Additionally, useful health information will be provided through real-time Q&A sessions.
Choi Changhwa, director of Busan Bumin Hospital, said, "We will do our best to promote the health of local residents through health classes held monthly on various topics."
