Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun attended the ‘468th Annual Onneung Gisin Jesa’ held on the morning of the 6th, organized by the ‘Onneung Bonghyanghoe (President Lee Won-seop)’ and hosted by the ‘National Heritage Agency Joseon Royal Tombs Management Office’.

Located at 255-41 Hoguk-ro, Jangheung-myeon, the ‘Onneung (溫陵)’ is the tomb of Queen Dan-gyeong Shin, the primary wife of King Jungjong of Joseon. It is currently designated as National Historic Site No. 210 and is a world-renowned cultural heritage site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage.
The event was attended by about 200 people, including Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun, President Lee Won-seop and members, and citizens of Yangju. The ceremony proceeded in the order of ▲Je-gwan ritual ▲Jeonhyangrye ▲Chohunrye ▲Ahunrye ▲Jonghunrye ▲Mangnyorye ▲Yepil.
On this day, Mayor Kang Su-hyun served as the Chohun-gwan (First Ritual Officer), Shin Kwon-beom, president of the Geochang Shin clan Tongyegong branch, served as the Ahun-gwan (Second Ritual Officer), and Lee Yuk-rim, director of the Jeonju Lee clan Deokyanggun branch, served as the Jonghun-gwan (Final Ritual Officer).
They solemnly conducted the ritual to commemorate and honor the wisdom of Queen Dan-gyeong, who calmly protected King Jungjong during moments of crisis, and to pay tribute to the moral spirit (道義精神) of the sages.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju said, “I would like to once again express my deep gratitude to President Lee Won-seop and all the citizens who joined this meaningful event despite the cold weather. Our city of Yangju will continue to strive to preserve cultural heritage so that more people can maintain interest and love for the Joseon royal tombs through Yangju Onneung, and we will do our best to carry on various traditional cultural legacies and pass them on to future generations.”
