Cheongsong Sarang Currency Leads Local Economic Revitalization Again This Year

Cheongsong-gun to Start Selling Cheongsong Love Currency in 2025

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, announced that the ‘Cheongsong Love Currency,’ which has played a central role in revitalizing the local economy since last year, will be distributed and sold in the market starting from the 6th.

Cheongsong-gun plans to issue a total of 70 billion KRW worth of Cheongsong Love Currency in 2025 to invigorate the local economy and stimulate consumption to boost the economy.

Of this amount, 60 billion KRW will be circulated through a 10% constant discount sale, which is similar to the issuance amount in 2024. Additionally, various policy allowances such as the farmer’s allowance and agricultural product delivery fee support projects will be separately issued in Cheongsong Love Currency to further stimulate the local domestic economy.

A county official stated, “Following last year, Cheongsong Love Currency will again offer residents a 10% discount benefit this year (discount sales will continue until the 60 billion KRW is exhausted), and we expect a high response from the residents.” He added, “It will continue to have a positive effect by supporting the economic activities of small business owners and revitalizing the stagnant local economy.”

County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, “Thanks to the active purchase and use of Cheongsong Love Currency by the residents last year, it greatly helped to stimulate the domestic economy.” He added, “This year as well, we hope many will use Cheongsong Love Currency to recover the weakened local economy and stabilize the unstable consumer sentiment.”

Cheongsong-gun plans to establish transparent circulation order of Cheongsong Love Currency through continuous crackdowns on illegal distribution and to provide practical support to small business owners struggling with domestic economic stagnation by separately issuing policy allowances and general discount sales.
