Yeoju City Expands 'Ddokbeoseu' Operation to Yeheung-dong Starting February 1

Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 6th that the operating area of the Ddokbus will be expanded to include Yeoheung-dong. The area is expected to be included in the zones of Jungang-dong, Ohhak-dong, and Sejong Daewang-myeon.

Yeoju City has been continuously requesting higher authorities to expand to Yeoheung-dong, and recently received approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for operations in Yeoheung-dong.

The Yeoheung-dong area includes many locations frequently used by citizens, from major tourist spots such as the suspension bridge scheduled for completion this year to the terminal and Hangeul Market. Therefore, the expansion of Ddokbus operations is expected to greatly improve the convenience of public transportation in Yeoju City.

The scheduled date for the Ddokbus expansion to Yeoheung-dong is February 1st, and continuous cooperation with related organizations and promotion of Ddokbus usage in the area will be conducted to ensure smooth operation.

Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju stated, “We aim to improve the overall public transportation system within the city through continuous expansion of Ddokbus and a complete overhaul of city bus routes,” adding, “We will continue to strive to enhance the transportation welfare of Yeoju citizens.”
