Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 6th that it will start operating a public late-night pharmacy from 2025 to alleviate the inconvenience of purchasing medicines during late-night hours for Pocheon citizens.
The newly designated public late-night pharmacy is the Boheon Pharmacy (97 Yangmun-ro, Yeongjung-myeon, Pocheon City, 1st floor), which will operate daily from 8 PM to 11 PM, year-round without holidays. It helps citizens safely purchase medicines through professional medication counseling by pharmacists.
Pocheon City expects the public late-night pharmacy to contribute to preventing medicine misuse, reducing health insurance expenses, and promoting appropriate medical cost usage. In particular, telephone medication counseling will also be available, allowing easy inquiries about medicines or how to take them.
The director of the Pocheon City Health Center said, “We hope the public late-night pharmacy will fill the medical gap during late-night hours and enable stable medicine supply, thereby increasing citizen satisfaction,” and added, “We ask for active use by the citizens.”
