KOSHA Busan Regional Headquarters, Jeong Jong-deuk Appointed as New Head

Jung Jong-deuk, the new head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, took office on the 6th.

Appointed as the 13th head of the Busan Regional Headquarters, Jung Jong-deuk holds a master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the Graduate School of Busan National University and completed the Public Enterprise Leadership program at Busan National University. He has held key positions both at central departments and in the field, including director of the Chungbuk Northern Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, head of the Industrial Health Office at the headquarters, and head of the faculty office at the Industrial Health Education Center.

Jung said, "I feel a heavy responsibility as I take office as the head of the Busan Regional Headquarters amid numerous challenges in occupational safety and health, such as the on-site establishment of the Serious Accident Punishment Act."

He added, "Busan is one of the high-risk areas for industrial accidents, with small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses concentrated in specific areas and large-scale construction sites mixed in, such as the Eco Delta City development in Gangseo-gu. I will fulfill my duty to ensure that the agency's industrial accident prevention projects, including support for small and medium-sized businesses, are promoted on-site so that the effects of reducing serious accidents can be felt directly in the field," he said in his inauguration remarks.
