KT Launches Kids Phone Featuring Sanrio Character 'Pochacco' Theme

KT announced on the 6th that it will pre-sell the smartphone 'Pochacco Kids Phone' featuring the popular Sanrio character 'Pochacco' on KT's official online mall 'KT.com'. Starting from the 10th, it will be available for purchase at KT stores nationwide.

Sanrio is a company that owns 'Sanrio Characters' such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Pochacco, and Hangyodong.

Purchasers of the Pochacco Kids Phone will receive Samsung Electronics' Galaxy A16 LTE device along with a Pochacco case, necklace strap, grip tok, and screen protector. This device has an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, allowing elementary school students to use it safely. The color is available in 'Light Green' only, and the price is 349,800 KRW.

The Pochacco Kids Phone comes pre-installed with the financial application (app) 'Puffin' designed for children's spending habits. Puffin automatically records, manages, and analyzes children's allowances to help them develop good spending habits on their own. When applying for a Puffin card, a 'Puffin Card 5,000 KRW Allowance Coupon' is provided.

Children under 12 years old who primarily use the kids phone can subscribe to two junior-exclusive plans that allow free use of voice calls and texts. If parents use a plan costing 100,000 KRW (Special) or more and their child uses a junior-exclusive plan, they receive an additional 8,800 KRW monthly discount through the 'Our Child Discount'.

Additionally, subscribers to the junior-exclusive plans can use the 'KT Safety Box (3,300 KRW/month)' service for free. KT Safety Box is an add-on service that allows parents to check their child's location in real-time via a smartphone app, block harmful websites, manage app usage, and provide a 'Study Mode' that temporarily restricts the smartphone to minimal functions so the child can focus on their studies.

To celebrate the online pre-sale, KT will support three months of communication fees and provide a 'Laser Height Gauge' as a gift for orders of the Pochacco Kids Phone placed by the 9th. KT.com also operates a kids phone specialized consultation center called 'Kids Talk'.
