On the morning of the 3rd, Mayor Jin visited two fire sites in Hwagok-dong that occurred earlier that day, checking the damage to residents and investigating the causes of the fires, while consoling the affected residents.
Mayor Jin said, “My heart aches and feels heavy knowing how deeply saddened you must be by the sudden fires,” adding, “We will do our best to support recovery efforts so that you can return to your daily lives as soon as possible.”
He instructed related officials to “prioritize residents’ safety and prepare additional measures such as providing daily necessities to minimize residents’ inconveniences.”
The fires, which broke out in multi-family houses and commercial buildings, were extinguished within two hours. Thanks to the prompt firefighting efforts, no casualties occurred. Currently, the displaced residents are resting at temporary accommodations such as hotels arranged by the district office.
Following this, Mayor Jin visited the construction site of the ‘Seoul City Eoullim Plaza (tentative name)’ in Deungchon-dong to inspect the progress of the project. He checked the safety of the school routes near the construction site and urged the construction officials to establish more thorough safety measures.
In the afternoon, he visited Hwanggeumnae Neighborhood Park in Yeomchang-dong and Gongamnaru Neighborhood Park in Gayang-dong, where earthen paths are being created. Mayor Jin walked barefoot on the earthen paths, checking if there were any inconveniences for the residents using them.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon stated, “I will listen carefully to even the smallest voices of residents, deeply examine their inconveniences, and wholeheartedly resolve them,” adding, “I will devote all my efforts to making Gangseo-gu a better place to live for its residents.”
