Seoul's autonomous districts have begun their work for the new year 2025.
At the end of last year, each district carried out a series of promotions and transfers for grades 4 and 5, welcoming the new year with organizational restructuring and renewed vigor.
Among the grade 5 promotions at the end of the year in Seoul's districts, three individuals stood out and became a hot topic.
They are Lee Gi-yeon, Acting Head of Seongsan 2-dong in Mapo-gu; Park Young-soo, Acting Director of the Culture and Arts Division in Eunpyeong-gu; and Park Chang-jo, Acting Head of Muak-dong in Jongno-gu.
These individuals, who will begin their grade 5 (assistant manager) promotion training at the Seoul Human Resources Development Institute on the 21st, have been recognized for their capabilities by their district heads through their dedicated work. Despite their young age, they have joined the ranks of grade 5 promotions and are expected to play key roles within their district offices in the future.
Lee Gi-yeon, Acting Head of Seongsan 2-dong, was born in 1973 and passed the Seoul city grade 9 public service exam in 1997 during the IMF crisis. After being assigned to Mapo-gu, he served as head of the Autonomous Cooperation Team, the Dong Office Management Team, and the Public Relations Team. Notably, during his two years as head of the Public Relations Team, he worked without weekends, supporting District Mayor Park Kang-soo’s passionate field administration. As a result, he was honored as the 2024 Seoul Autonomous District PR Man selected by Seoul city reporters.
Park Young-soo, Acting Director of the Culture and Arts Division in Eunpyeong-gu, was born in 1977 and joined Eunpyeong-gu through the grade 9 public service exam in 2004. He served as head of the Eunpyeong-gu Public Relations Team for two and a half years and as press officer for another two and a half years, becoming a representative PR figure of Eunpyeong-gu. With the trust of Eunpyeong-gu Mayor Kim Mi-kyung, Park was promoted to grade 5 and entrusted with the important role of Culture and Arts Division Director.
Park Chang-jo, Acting Head of Muak-dong in Jongno-gu, was born in 1979 and joined Jongno-gu as a grade 9 public servant in 2005. He held key positions such as head of the Public Relations Team and the crucial Personnel Team before his recent promotion and appointment as dong head.
All three are known for their kind nature and maintain a sincere public servant attitude, earning high respect from seniors, colleagues, and juniors within their district offices, which likely contributed to their early grade 5 promotion honors. Additionally, they are married public servants working within the same district offices.
