Gyeonggi Province held the first ‘Province-City/County Deputy Head Meeting’ of the new year on the 3rd to explore cooperation measures for regional economic recovery and stabilization of people’s livelihoods.
At the meeting, Kim Seong-jung, the Province’s First Deputy Governor for Administration, stated, "The public sector must steadfastly commit to provincial administration to stabilize people’s livelihoods," and urged, "For regional economic revitalization, the province and cities/counties should closely cooperate and do their best to ensure more residents can feel the impact of policies."
The key agenda items discussed at the meeting were ‘Rapid Execution of the First Quarter Budget’ and ‘Management of Local Price Stability.’

The attendees shared financial execution plans to revitalize Gyeonggi and agreed on easing residents’ economic burdens by freezing and suppressing increases in local public utility charges. Additionally, they reviewed current issues related to protecting vulnerable groups against cold waves and supporting heating costs to ensure safety during the winter season.
Gyeonggi Province recently decided to provide emergency support of 50,000 KRW for one month’s heating costs in January to 300,000 households, including basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups, to protect vulnerable groups struggling with heating expenses. This decision was realized after Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province promptly accepted the proposal made at the emergency livelihood stabilization meeting between the province and cities/counties held last month.
Like this case, Gyeonggi Province plans to promote rapid financial execution this year in close cooperation with cities and counties to ensure that the budget provides practical help to residents.
