The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (HCIA) attempted to execute an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 3rd but was stopped by the Presidential Security Service and others, leading to the suspension of the attempt.

At around 1:36 PM that day, the HCIA announced through a media statement, "Due to the continued standoff, it was deemed practically impossible to execute the arrest warrant, and concerns for the safety of personnel at the scene due to obstruction led to the suspension of the execution around 1:30 PM," adding, "Future measures will be reviewed and decided upon." They also expressed "deep regret over the suspect's attitude of not complying with the legal procedures."
On the same day, the HCIA arrived near the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, at around 7:30 AM and began attempting to enter the residence around 8 AM. However, they were blocked by the Security Service and others, and after more than five hours of standoff, they appear to have withdrawn from the scene.

The validity period of the arrest warrant for President Yoon expires at midnight on the 6th.
