On the 2nd (local time), at the Plantation Course (par 73, 7,596 yards) of Kapalua Resort on Maui Island, Hawaii, USA, in the first round of the PGA Tour 2025 season opener The Sentry (total prize money $20 million), he recorded six birdies and two bogeys. Byung-hoon An, who made his debut in this tournament last year and finished 4th, was tied for 23rd at 3-under 70. Viktor Hovland (Norway) and Jason Day (Australia) were also in this group. With world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler absent due to a hand injury, the highest-ranked player among the participants was world No. 2 Xander Schauffele (USA), who was tied for 34th at 1-under 72. Kim Si-woo recorded two birdies, three bogeys, and one double bogey, finishing tied for 56th at 3-over 76.
