Sudden retirement announcement in May last year causes buzz
Lexi Thompson (USA) is engaged.
On the 2nd (local time), she posted a photo on her social media showing her wearing an engagement ring with her boyfriend Max Frost. Along with this, she also shared a photo of Frost proposing on one knee at a ski resort. Thompson wrote with joy, "The best moment of this trip... I said 'yes'." Thompson and Frost have been on a ski resort trip in Whistler, Canada since the end of last year.
Frost, who is set to marry Thompson, graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Business Administration and has worked in marketing and sales at various companies. He is currently known to be working as a sales representative for a medical equipment company. He appeared with Thompson at the Solheim Cup opening ceremony last September.
Thompson competed in the US Women's Open at age 12 and was called a "golf prodigy." She won her first LPGA Tour event at age 16 and has achieved a total of 11 wins, including one major championship, leveraging her long drives. In May last year, she suddenly announced her retirement, saying, "This year will be my last playing full-time on the LPGA Tour." At the end of last year, she hinted at marriage, saying, "I will turn 30 next year. Settling down in one place, getting married, and starting a family is what I want most."
