A Sophisticated Spicy Flavor Without Stomach Burn, THE Spicy 'Maepsallong Curry' Launched

The L&K announced on the 3rd that it has launched THE Spicy ‘Maep Salong Curry,’ setting a new standard for spicy flavors.


Choi Suhwa, CEO of The L&K who developed THE Spicy Maep Salong Curry, stated that by blending Carolina Reaper peppers boasting a Scoville heat unit of over 2.2 million with more than 20 kinds of natural spices, they created an elegant and sophisticated spiciness that even consumers who love spicy food but avoid it due to stomach discomfort can enjoy with confidence.


This product enhances the deep flavor of curry by utilizing healthful fruits and vegetables such as potatoes, onions, mushrooms, apples, beef, garlic, honey, and ginger. During prototype evaluations, it received praise for its “unique spiciness that completely eliminates the greasiness or cloying sensation typically found in regular curry.”


In particular, THE Spicy Maep Salong Curry can be used not only in the traditional way of mixing with rice or noodles but also as a dipping sauce for naan, baguettes, and fried foods. It is also suitable as a sauce for tonkatsu, emphasizing that the spicy flavor can be enjoyed without any greasiness until the last bite.


Additionally, production is handled by Korea SB Food, established in 1967 and the first company to launch curry in Korea, adding trust in quality and safety.


THE Spicy Maep Salong Curry will be available for purchase through Naver Store upon release. Furthermore, there are plans to actively expand sales in the global market targeting overseas consumers who love spicy flavors.


CEO Choi Suhwa stated, “We will promote K-spicy flavors worldwide and create a new trend where people can enjoy spicy tastes healthily.”
