Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants Launches AI-Based Accounting and Tax Service ‘ChatCPA(Beta)’

The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 3rd that it will launch an artificial intelligence (AI) service called ‘ChatCPA (Beta)’ exclusively for its members, providing specialized knowledge and information in accounting and taxation.

ChatCPA is a project collaboratively conducted by the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Young Certified Public Accountants Association, and it is the first AI service that members can practically utilize in their work.

The beta version includes accounting standards such as K-IFRS, inquiry response data, and approximately 260,000 tax-related precedents and rulings. Professional information necessary for practical work will continue to be uploaded.

Accounting and tax-related standards and laws are revised annually and can sometimes change within six months. ChatCPA promptly reflects these revisions, significantly reducing the time required for information search and analysis. It provides highly reliable answers by clearly presenting the sources and grounds of responses generated by a large language model (LLM) to questions written in natural language.

The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants plans to accelerate digital innovation using AI technology and present a new paradigm in the accounting and taxation fields. Choi Un-yeol, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, stated, “AI is a powerful tool that supports performing accounting tasks more efficiently and professionally. In the future, AI utilization skills will become essential competencies for accountants.” He added, “The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants will continue to provide various support to help accountants enhance work efficiency and create greater value through AI.”
