Minju: "Traitor Yoon Seok-yeol, Carry Out the Warrant Execution"

"Security Office: The Chief Suspect Is Not a Soldier"

The Democratic Party of Korea on the 3rd explicitly named President Yoon Seok-yeol as a suspect in the charge of rebellion and urged him to comply willingly with the execution of the arrest warrant. They warned the Presidential Security Service, saying, "Remember that you are not the private soldiers of a suspect in rebellion."

Kim Seong-hoe, the Democratic Party spokesperson, said in a written briefing that morning, "The price to pay is already overwhelming just for putting the rule of law in the Republic of Korea at risk once."

Spokesperson Kim emphasized, "All members of the Republic of Korea must cooperate with the lawful execution of the arrest warrant against the suspect in rebellion."

He added, "No matter what happens, the strict law enforcement of the Republic of Korea against the suspect in rebellion must not be obstructed," and stressed, "No unfortunate incidents, injuries, or clashes should occur."

He also urged Choi Sang-mok, the Acting Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, to instruct all state agencies, including the Presidential Security Service and the Presidential Secretariat, to cooperate with the execution of the warrant. He claimed that Chief Secretary Jeong Jin-seok and the Presidential Secretariat should "obey only the orders of the people and the Acting President."

To the Presidential Security Service, he warned, "Keep in mind that you are not the private soldiers of a suspect in rebellion, and the head of the Security Service must not issue any unjust orders to subordinates that oppose the lawful execution of the warrant," adding, "Unjust orders must be firmly refused, and there must be no acts that obstruct official duties based on law and principles."

Earlier, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials began executing the arrest warrant around 8:10 a.m. at the main gate of President Yoon's residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
