Woongjin ThinkBig Launches AI Korean Language Education Service 'ThinkBig Topic' for Foreigners

Woongjin ThinkBig announced on the 3rd the launch of ‘ThinkBig TOPIK,’ an artificial intelligence (AI) learning service designed for foreigners and overseas Koreans preparing for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).

ThinkBig TOPIK is a language learning solution that offers the optimal AI learning method to improve TOPIK test scores through curricula and feedback tailored to the learner’s level. It provides 12 systematic curricula corresponding to all levels from TOPIK Level 1 to Level 6, and is a subscription-based service accessible anytime and anywhere via web (PC & mobile) and mobile app (APP). Woongjin ThinkBig has pre-released the web version of the service and will introduce the app version early this month.

Before starting learning, an ‘AI Level Test’ allows learners to estimate their expected TOPIK score and proceed with a curriculum suited to their skill level. The ‘AI Writing Tutor’ feature, equipped with generative AI technology, evaluates users’ written answers in real time and provides total scores along with detailed feedback on each category. Through ‘Today’s Learning’ video lectures and various practice problems, learners can understand TOPIK question types and effectively prepare for the exam. Additionally, functions to save insufficient vocabulary and grammar in review notes and wordbooks for re-study have been applied.

ThinkBig TOPIK supports learning not only in Korean but also in seven other languages including English, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Mongolian, with plans to further expand multilingual support by the first half of 2025. Even before its launch, it has attracted attention from universities and institutions in various regions interested in Korean language education. Through a business agreement with SDG Youth (a UN Special Consultative Status NGO), it plans to strengthen international education projects in African regions such as Nigeria. Furthermore, it has signed a usage contract with Cheongam University in Korea to contribute to improving Korean language skills among foreign students.

Won Man-ho, Head of DX Business Division at Woongjin ThinkBig, said, “With Korea’s rising international status, the demand among foreigners aiming for TOPIK certification for studying and working in Korea has greatly increased. We expect to receive positive responses from more global learners through a customized AI learning solution that can provide practical help to them.”
