Ulsan City Provides 100 Million KRW Disaster Relief Fund for Jeju Air Accident

Bereaved Families Use Support to Alleviate Economic and Psychological Hardships

Ulsan City will provide 100 million KRW from the disaster relief fund to the bereaved families of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident that occurred on December 29, 2024.


This support fund will be donated to the Korean Red Cross and used to alleviate the economic and psychological difficulties faced by the bereaved families.


Mayor Kim Du-gyeom expressed, “We extend our deepest condolences to those who lost family and friends in this accident, and we will actively support to convey the warm hearts of Ulsan citizens. We also plan to continue supporting victims together with Ulsan citizens in the event of disasters in other cities and provinces.”


Ulsan City has been providing donations for rapid damage recovery whenever major disasters occur, including the 2017 Pohang earthquake (100 million KRW), the 2019 Gangwon wildfire (50 million KRW), the 2022 Gyeongbuk and Gangwon wildfires (60 million KRW), the 2022 Pohang typhoon (100 million KRW), and the 2024 Chungnam Seocheon market fire (30 million KRW).
