Increase to 352 Cases Last Year After Service Introduction
Annual Savings of 70 Million KRW on Registration Costs
Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) announced on the 3rd that the 'One-Stop Registration Request Service' implemented in February last year saved 70 million KRW in registration costs over the past year and received positive responses from civil petitioners.
This service involves the district office applying (requesting) directly to the registry office on behalf of the owner for building extensions, changes in use, cancellations, or demolition reports.
It aims not only to reduce the time and financial burden on civil petitioners but also to efficiently carry out tasks by matching information between the building register and the registry, thereby realizing smart administration. In the past, when a building change report was processed, the owner had to visit the registry office in person or request a judicial scrivener to apply for a change in building designation registration.
However, since the implementation of this service last year, the district office has been organizing the building register and proceeding with the registration application, acting as a judicial scrivener, thus eliminating the inconvenience of civil petitioners having to visit the registry office directly.
As a result, the number of registration requests increased by 340% from 80 cases in 2023 to 352 cases last year, achieving an annual saving of approximately 70 million KRW in registration costs.
Owners or building owners who wish to apply for the One-Stop Registration Request Service should submit the registration license tax payment receipt to the Real Estate Information Division of the district office within one month from the date of completion of use approval due to building use changes.
