According to industry sources on the 3rd, Professor Oh is expected to visit the site on the 7th (local time), the opening day of CES 2025, upon Samsung Electronics' invitation, and tour the exhibition booths with related personnel.

Professor Oh's attendance is drawing more attention amid growing interest in the 'Samsung-branded humanoid' following Samsung Electronics' emergence as the largest shareholder of Rainbow Robotics on the 31st of last month. As the exhibition gathers global IT and robotics companies, he is expected to closely examine this year's robot trends and technologies. During the event, Professor Oh is also likely to meet separately with Han Jong-hee, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics' Device Experience (DX) Division, who is a keynote speaker, to discuss humanoid trends and future strategies.

Earlier, Samsung Electronics announced plans to accelerate the development of future robots, including humanoids, by increasing its existing stake in the robotics specialist company Rainbow Robotics from 14.7% to 35.0%, securing the position of the largest shareholder. They also established the Future Robot Promotion Team directly under the CEO.

Professor Oh, a founding member of Rainbow Robotics and the creator of 'Hubo,' Korea's first bipedal humanoid robot, has decided to contribute to the development of future robots, including humanoids, at Samsung Electronics' Future Robot Promotion Team.

Humanoids are AI-based robots that think and act like humans, and global big tech companies such as Tesla and Nvidia are fiercely competing for commercialization. Samsung Electronics plans to accelerate the development of intelligent advanced humanoids by combining AI and software technologies with Rainbow Robotics' robotics technology.
