Gwangjin-gu '50+ Dongbu Campus' Public Parking Lot Operation

Providing Convenience for 50+ Dongbu Campus Visitors and Alleviating Parking Shortage in Nearby Residential Areas
Constructed with 164 Spaces Across B1 to B3 Floors... Priority Parking for Residents Alongside General Parking Operations

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will begin operating a public parking lot in celebration of the opening of the 50+ Dongbu Campus in February.

The Seoul 50+ Dongbu Campus is a complex facility completed to provide job information and educational support for middle-aged and older adults in the eastern region of Seoul. The public parking lot was created on the basement levels 1 to 3 within the campus, with a capacity of 164 spaces, to alleviate parking difficulties in the nearby residential area and provide a comfortable environment for facility users.

Accordingly, Gwangjin-gu signed a delegated management agreement for the public parking lot with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and plans to officially operate it from February after a pilot operation in January.

The parking lot has a total of 164 spaces and will be operated with a combination of resident-priority parking (100 spaces) and general parking (64 spaces). Resident-priority parking is allocated on a one-year rotation basis to residents of the area who own a vehicle registered in their name or business operators running local establishments.

The parking fee is 200 KRW per 5 minutes and 100,000 KRW per month, while resident-priority parking users can use the parking lot for 50,000 KRW per month.

The public parking lot will be operated by the Gwangjin-gu Facilities Management Corporation under consignment, running 24 hours with an unmanned parking system, and will minimize inconvenience through an integrated control center.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “The operation of the 50+ Dongbu Campus public parking lot is expected to contribute to alleviating parking difficulties in the surrounding area and provide a comfortable parking environment for facility visitors.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to improve convenience for residents by enhancing the parking environment through the continuous creation of public parking lots.”
