Kim Heung-guk, a prominent 'conservative right-wing celebrity,' expressed his unwavering support for President Yoon Seok-yeol.
On the 2nd, Kim Heung-guk, who attended the rally titled 'Prevent Illegal Arrest in Front of President Yoon Seok-yeol's Residence' held near the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, took the stage and said, "Even though it is so cold, conservatives have gathered for President Yoon, and I am truly sorry that I have never been able to come out before." He lamented, "I am attacked daily on YouTube. They call 'Horangnabi' (Kim Heung-guk's hit song) 'Gye-eomnabi' (martial law butterfly), and some even call it 'Naerannabi' (rebellion butterfly), making it unbearable to live."
He continued, "I don't know why South Korea has come to this. Is this even a country?" and added, "They say this week is a critical moment to protect South Korea and President Yoon. If we unite just a little more and come together, we can save South Korea." He also said, "I am a Marine Corps veteran," and stated, "I learned that when the country is in trouble and the people are struggling, the Republic of Korea Marine Corps leads the way in protecting the country." Then he raised his voice, saying, "I respect and love those who shout for the legality of martial law and the nullification of impeachment. You are the owners of South Korea," and urged, "All Marine Corps veterans, seniors, and juniors nationwide and worldwide, head to Hannam-dong."
Kim Heung-guk also praised President Yoon, saying, "How hard must it be for President Yoon, who is at the residence every day? I saw a letter yesterday, and who else would fight to the end thanks to you all? In the past two and a half years, where is a president who has done as well as this person?"
Supporters of President Yoon Seok-yeol are protesting near the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 31st of last month, demanding opposition to impeachment and eradication of Jusa-pa, following the court's issuance of an arrest warrant for President Yoon on charges of rebellion related to the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law Incident.' Kim Heung-guk is considered a representative 'conservative right-wing celebrity.' He publicly supported President Yoon, the People Power Party candidate, during the last presidential election and helped with election campaigns, revealing his political stance. He also participated in campaign rallies supporting People Power Party candidates in the April 10 general election last year.
In addition, in June last year, he received a plaque of appreciation as an entertainer supporting the People Power Party's general election campaign. At that time, Kim Heung-guk emphasized, "Left-wing entertainers return to their places after the election, but right-wing entertainers still have not returned," and said, "Many conservative right-wing entertainers are hiding nationwide. I sincerely thank you if you create a foundation where they can come out comfortably for South Korea and the People Power Party."
Meanwhile, on the 31st of last month, the court issued an arrest warrant for President Yoon, who is accused of rebellion related to the 'December 3 Martial Law Incident.' This is the first time in constitutional history that an arrest warrant has been issued for a sitting president. The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) is expected to move to the presidential residence soon to execute the warrant. The validity period of the arrest warrant is usually one week from the date of issuance. However, since President Yoon, as the sitting president, receives protection from the Presidential Security Service, there is also a possibility of physical confrontation during the execution process.
