Contributions to the Scientific Advancement, Standardization, and Industrialization of Korean Medicine
Kang Yunhwan, Director of the Herbal Medicine Preparation Production Center at the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, along with Senior Researchers Jung Wonseok, Bae Gyorae, and Choi Seohyun, received a commendation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare for their contributions to revitalizing the Korean medicine industry.
Director Kang Yunhwan was recognized for supporting Korean medicine companies; Senior Researcher Jung Wonseok contributed to improving the herbal medicine supply system; and Senior Researcher Bae Gyorae was acknowledged for advancing the scientific and standardized development of Korean medicine through research and development projects.
In particular, Senior Researcher Bae was awarded the Grand Prize at the recent “R&D Standard Research Achievement Case Contest” hosted by the Korean Standards Association for the “Case of Standardizing Clinical Research Data in Korean Medicine,” thereby contributing to the dissemination of standardization achievements in the field.
Senior Researcher Choi Seohyun contributed to the international expansion of Korean medicine by supporting the organization of the Korean Medicine Innovation Technology Development Project Results Exchange, a special session at the 2024 International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques (ICMART) General Assembly.
Shin Jesu, Acting President of the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, stated, “I would like to thank the awardees for their dedication to strengthening clinical research capabilities in Korean medicine, improving the herbal medicine supply system, and supporting Korean medicine companies. In the new year, the Institute will continue to fulfill its role as a leading organization in promoting the future value of the Korean medicine industry.”
