Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, Emphasizes Residents' Happiness and Local Economy at 2025 Opening Ceremony

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held a kick-off ceremony on the afternoon of January 2nd to mark a strong start to the 2025 district administration.

About 480 people, including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Oh Kyung-hee, the new Deputy Mayor, heads of departments and offices, and staff, attended the ceremony held at the Mapo-gu Office auditorium, reaffirming their firm commitment to the happiness of residents and the development of Mapo-gu.

In his New Year's address, Mayor Park Gang-su said, "I hope that 2025 will be a hopeful year in which Mapo firmly consolidates its achievements so far and leaps forward more vigorously and newly," adding, "Let us join forces to create a 'New Mapo, Better Mapo' for the 'Era of Happiness for Mapo Residents.'"

He also emphasized that the role of the community service centers should be further expanded to strengthen field-centered administration and communication with residents.

Along with this, he urged efforts to promote policies for youth and women, which will be the key to enhancing the growth potential of the economy and recovering the livelihood economy.

Mayor Park Gang-su also stated, "In an era where 'Artificial Intelligence (AI)' is becoming commonplace, public officials are no exception to the huge wave of change," and urged employees to strengthen their digital capabilities.

Finally, Mayor Park Gang-su said, "I hope you will boldly cut off wrong and outdated practices and approach your work with an attitude of looking further and deeper to take a step forward."
