On the 2nd at around 4:37 PM, the police deployed riot squads to break through the police barricades and forcibly disperse the supporters who had advanced up to the front gate of the presidential residence.
The police stated, "If the road is occupied, dispersal procedures will be carried out in accordance with the Assembly and Demonstration Act and the Road Traffic Act," and issued dispersal orders five times. The supporters resisted fiercely, and some shouted "Yoon Seok-yeol" as they were taken into custody by the police.
Earlier, President Yoon expressed his gratitude to the supporters gathered in front of the residence the previous day, saying, "Thank you for coming out in such large numbers and making efforts to protect the constitutional order of liberal democracy in this country," and added, "I am watching your efforts through the real-time live broadcast on YouTube."
