The prosecution has established a strict response policy regarding crimes such as defamation and insult related to the Jeju Air passenger plane accident.
On the 2nd, the Prosecution Accident Countermeasures Headquarters (Head: Lee Jong-hyuk, Chief Prosecutor of Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office) stated, "Recently, false rumors and misinformation related to the Jeju Air passenger plane accident, as well as online posts and malicious comments that insult or belittle the victims and their families, have been posted, causing irreparable harm to the victims and their bereaved families."

They added, "The Prosecution Accident Countermeasures Headquarters will work closely with the police to respond swiftly and strictly with a zero-tolerance policy to crimes such as defamation and insult, and will make every effort to protect and support the victims."
Earlier, the prosecution formed the Accident Countermeasures Headquarters consisting of 16 prosecutors from three teams: the 3rd Criminal Division and Public Investigation Division of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office, and the 2nd Criminal Division of the Mokpo Branch. The head of the headquarters is Lee Jong-hyuk, Chief Prosecutor of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office.
