Namyangju City Council Begins Legislative Activities with New Year's Visit to Memorial Tower and Jeong Yak-yong's Tomb Site

The Namyangju City Council of Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Jo Seong-dae) began its first legislative activities of the new year 2025, the Year of the Eulsa (乙巳), by visiting and paying respects at the Memorial Tower located in Yangjeong-dong and the Jeong Yak-yong gravesite in Joan-myeon on the 2nd.

First, Chairman Jo Seong-dae and the city council members who visited the Memorial Tower offered flowers and incense, taking time to honor the noble spirit of the patriotic martyrs and war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country.


Afterwards, they visited the Jeong Yak-yong gravesite to pay respects, pledging to inherit Dasan’s spirit of love for the people and to devote themselves to legislative activities aimed at enhancing citizen welfare and regional development, so that the council can be trusted by the citizens.


Chairman Jo Seong-dae stated, “First, I pray for the souls of those who perished in the unexpected passenger plane accident and offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones,” adding, “In the new year, we will deeply engrave the noble sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs and war heroes in our hearts and continue to carry out field-centered legislative activities for the citizens with an open attitude.”


Meanwhile, before visiting the Jeong Yak-yong gravesite after paying respects at the Memorial Tower, the city council members visited the ‘Joint Memorial Altar for the Victims of the Jeju Air Passenger Plane Accident’ set up at Dasan Station Plaza, where they offered flowers and observed a moment of silence to honor the victims’ souls.
