This campaign was carried out to create a Pohang traditional market that visitors would return to amid ongoing consumer contraction and economic recession caused by unstable internal and external conditions. It focused on Jukdo Market, which attracts many tourists, to eliminate overcharging and promote friendly service.

To eradicate overcharging, which causes inconvenience to consumers and affects the trust and image of the local economy, and to build consensus on the need to establish a fair trading culture, Pohang City plans to continuously conduct public-private cooperative campaigns with the Merchants Association throughout this year.

By expanding voluntary participation of merchants, the city aims to foster an atmosphere of price stability and create a traditional market with fair prices that satisfy both tourists and merchants, encouraging citizens and tourists to revisit.

The city has been expanding "Good Price" businesses to promote the spread of fair pricing and stable management of personal service fees. Last year, it designated 227 locations, the largest nationwide, and plans to continue expanding and intensively promoting these businesses this year to contribute to price stabilization and encourage voluntary price reductions in personal service fees.

Lee Sang-hyun, Director of the Economic and Labor Policy Division, said, “Honest prices and friendly service are the first steps to revitalizing traditional markets and enhancing Pohang’s city image. We will do our best to create a traditional market that tourists visiting Pohang can trust and want to revisit.”
