In his New Year’s address, President Jang Seok-hwan mentioned that Daejin University marked its 33rd anniversary since its founding, emphasizing that the dedication and efforts of its members have led the university to its current status. President Jang stated, “We stand at an important point where we must inherit the strengths of the past and complement the weaknesses to open a new future,” adding, “We will create a university that students want to choose and where faculty and staff can feel pride.”

In particular, President Jang presented three core tasks for university management in 2025.

First, he emphasized attracting the ‘RISE (Regional Innovation System Enhancement)’ project aimed at mutual growth between the university and the local community.

President Jang said, “Daejin University will surely attract the RISE project based on its specialized fields and strengths, presenting a model of co-growth with the region.”

Second, he mentioned the campus RE100 project to achieve carbon neutrality. President Jang expressed his ambition, saying, “We will enhance campus innovation and efficiency, build a carbon-neutral campus for a sustainable future, and create a model case for domestic universities.”

Third, he added that starting this year, the introduction of the major autonomous selection system for freshmen will provide students with opportunities to explore their majors and career paths.

During the ceremony, awards for university development contributors, the Minister of Education’s commendation, and the Major Curriculum Accreditation plaques were presented, making it a meaningful time to honor the efforts of each department and staff who contributed to the university’s development.

President Jang Seok-hwan stated, “All members must unite their efforts for Daejin University to achieve sustainable development this year,” and added, “We will continue to strive for further advancement of Daejin University through innovation in education and research and cooperation with the local community.”
