On the 2nd, the Joguk Innovation Party announced that it is considering urging the government to file a constitutional party dissolution trial against the People Power Party.
Kim Bohyeop, the chief spokesperson of the Innovation Party, told reporters after the Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly that day, "The People Power Party must face strict judgment by the people even after the internal rebellion forces have been suppressed. They deserve to be dissolved, but they will not dissolve themselves," he said.
Kim added, "When the internal rebellion forces are suppressed and everything is settled, the People Power Party must also face strict judgment by the people," and explained, "Since the People Power Party will not dissolve itself, the existing system for that is the constitutional party dissolution trial."
He continued, "The entity that can file a constitutional party dissolution trial is the government, and if the Ministry of Justice under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration does not file it, the Ministry of Justice of the next administration can file it," emphasizing, "There is no statute of limitations on charges of internal rebellion. The charges of conspiracy, complicity, and incitement of internal rebellion also have no statute of limitations."
On the same day, Kim Seonmin, acting party leader, addressed the Presidential Security Service, saying, "If you obstruct the legitimate execution of duties by investigative authorities, you become a key participant in the internal rebellion," and claimed, "Following Yoon Seok-yeol, Kim Yong-hyun, and Han Deok-su, we do not know who will be included in the new 'Eulsa Five Traitors' or 'Eulsa Ten Traitors,' but they must all be completely eradicated."
In the Democratic Party of Korea, there was also an opinion that the People Power Party should undergo a constitutional party dissolution trial. Democratic Party lawmaker Jang Kyung-tae said in a YTN radio interview that day, "The internal rebellion special prosecutor and Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor bills have been continuously rejected as party positions," and added, "I personally believe that the People Power Party, which keeps rejecting the internal rebellion special prosecutor as a party position, should undergo a constitutional party dissolution trial."
