Professor Jang Won-du of the Department of Computer and Artificial Intelligence Engineering at Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon), along with PhD student Jin Ye-ji and Data Classic CEO Hwang Soon-wook, announced on the 2nd that their book, Machine Learning and Data Analysis Made Easy with Orange (Saengneung Publishing), has been selected for the 2024 Sejong Books Academic Category.
The Sejong Books project is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Publication Ethics Commission to promote academic development and the production of excellent publishing content by selecting outstanding books annually.
In the 2024 Sejong Books Academic Category announced in December, 363 books were selected out of 2,399 submissions across 10 fields. The selected books will be distributed to public libraries, specialized libraries, and elementary, middle, high schools, and universities nationwide.
Professor Jang Won-du’s Machine Learning and Data Analysis Made Easy with Orange offers an easy and fast learning method for machine learning and data analysis, helping students from various majors understand and utilize artificial intelligence techniques.
Orange3 is a tool that enables machine learning and data analysis through mouse operations without complex Python coding. Compared to most previously published books related to Orange3, which dealt with relatively simple examples, Professor Jang’s newly selected book is structured to cover the overall aspects of machine learning through diverse examples.
Professor Jang Won-du said, “I hope that through this book, more people will experience artificial intelligence and machine learning and easily acquire related knowledge.”
