2024 is a Year of Valuable Achievements
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 2nd that it held the 2024 year-end closing ceremony and the 2025 Eulsa year New Year's opening ceremony at the City Hall Cultural Center.

Considering the national mourning period, the opening ceremony was conducted solemnly and calmly without cultural performances.
The year-end closing ceremony held on the 31st at the Goyang Special City Cultural Center proceeded in the order of the 2024 year-end video, award presentation, and the year-end address by the Mayor of Goyang Special City.
In his year-end address, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan expressed pride that the 2024 Gapjin year was a more valuable year than any other.
He encouraged all employees by mentioning various achievements one by one, including receiving the Dasan Mokmin Grand Prize main award, being selected as the best institution for two consecutive years in the Gyeonggi Province city and county comprehensive evaluation, and being chosen for support in the venture business promotion district and tourism special zone revitalization contest.
On the 2nd, the New Year's opening ceremony was held to welcome the 2025 Eulsa year.
In his New Year's address, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan urged, “The 8th elected term has already entered its fourth year, and to open the ‘Goyang Success Era, Citizen Happiness Era’ promised to the citizens at the beginning of my term, I ask everyone to do their best in their assigned duties this year as well.”
He added, “The 2025 Eulsa year is the year of the Blue Snake, and I hope it will be a meaningful year that receives good energy, overcomes difficulties and limitations, and clearly shows the changes of Goyang Special City.”
