Channel Established for Reporting Fake News
"Thorough Accountability for Treasonous Propaganda and Incitement"
The Democratic Party of Korea has decided to file complaints against members of the People Power Party and YouTubers on charges of inciting and propagandizing for rebellion.

On the 2nd, Cho Seung-rae, the chief spokesperson of the Democratic Party, met with reporters after the 5th meeting of the Special Committee on Overcoming Rebellion and National Stability held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, and stated, "We had planned to file complaints against 12 individuals on charges of inciting and propagandizing for rebellion, which had been postponed, but we will file the complaints this afternoon," adding, "We will hold those who defended and incited rebellion fully accountable."
Among the 12 individuals to be reported, 8 are government and Presidential Office officials and members of the People Power Party, and 4 are YouTubers. Regarding whether former floor leader of the People Power Party, Choo Kyung-ho, is included among those to be reported, Cho said, "Former floor leader Choo is being reported as a principal participant or subordinate executor of the crime of rebellion, which is different in nature from incitement and propaganda."
The Democratic Party also plans to file complaints against 9 individuals, including the head of the Presidential Security Service, on charges of conspiring rebellion and secondary martial law. Cho explained, "The complaints may be filed as early as the next day."
The Democratic Party has also established a channel to receive reports related to incitement and propaganda for rebellion and fake news. Cho said, "There is a lot of incitement, propaganda for rebellion, and fake news on internet communities," adding, "We have opened the 'Minju Police Station' to receive reports."
