Jeong Shin-ah, CEO of Kakao, expressed determination on the 2nd to join forces and secure new growth opportunities in 2025, a year expected to bring many changes due to artificial intelligence (AI).

On the same day, in a post uploaded to the company’s internal platform for employees, CEO Jeong said, "2024 was a year full of challenges and trials for Kakao," and expressed gratitude by saying, "Despite that, we were able to continue growing and build a stronger foundation thanks to the efforts and dedication of all the crew members."

He added, "Since last year, we have been defining KakaoTalk and AI as core focuses, implementing selection and concentration," and reflected on the changes made last year by saying, "Under the direction of 'strengthening platform competitiveness through focusing on the essence,' we concentrated on improving the context in which users interact with each other, and to respond more efficiently in the rapidly changing AI era, we integrated Kakao Brain and the organization to continue various attempts."

CEO Jeong emphasized, "The IT environment changes centered on AI are progressing faster than ever, and 2025 will be the starting point of a completely new paradigm," adding, "I am confident this will be another opportunity for Kakao." He continued, "It will be a year to expand business areas beyond Kakao’s powerful mobile platform through new services and technologies," and expressed his ambition by saying, "Through various challenges, we will ultimately launch AI services recognized by users and the market."

Furthermore, he said, "In 2025, we will leverage the distinctiveness of KakaoTalk to enable individuals to produce and distribute content more easily and have it discovered better," adding, "Through this, we will secure new growth opportunities."
