Dongkuk Steel Group's Dongkuk Holdings, Dongkuk Steel, and Dongkuk CM held their 2025 New Year's opening ceremony on the 2nd at the Ferrum Tower headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, as well as at regional business sites.
Jang Se-wook, Vice Chairman of Dongkuk Holdings, visited the Incheon plant early in the morning on the same day as last year to start the first work of the new year at the production site. He revisited the place where he had urged support for the adaptation of employees who had transitioned to direct management exactly one year ago.

Vice Chairman Jang exchanged New Year's greetings with workers at the steelmaking and rolling sites and had breakfast together with the union chairman and senior employees in the company cafeteria.
He said, “Please research an education and training system so that new employees can adapt well to the field,” and added, “I hope you will do your best to stabilize field operations such as shift teams.” He also said, “If you maintain your health and enjoy your work, the organization will operate energetically,” and added, “Wishing you a happy new year and an enjoyable life.”
Dongkuk Steel held a short 'small opening ceremony' of about 30 minutes at the headquarters office to mark the start of the new year's first work. The 'Songwon Award' was presented to outstanding performers and teams, and the year began with a New Year's address by CEO Choi Sam-young.
CEO Choi said, “In an era of uncertainty, the most important thing is a cool-headed awareness of the situation based on facts,” and added, “A company with strong fundamentals does not waver in any crisis.” He selected three key directions for this year: ▲ Back to Basic ▲ Collaboration and Communication ▲ Positive and Proactive Attitude.

Dongkuk CM held a safety prayer ceremony and opening ceremony at the Busan plant. CEO Park Sang-hoon attended the on-site opening ceremony at the Busan plant in the morning, presented the Songwon Award and Safety Model Award, delivered a New Year's address, and returned to the Seoul headquarters in the afternoon to share the new year's goals with headquarters employees.
CEO Park said, “It was a year of striving to stand alone under the name Dongkuk CM,” and added, “We will create an opportunity to take a step forward through the merger with Ajou Steel, which has complementary strengths.”
