Seoul Pohang Dormitory is recruiting residents for 2025 to help university students from the metropolitan area reduce educational expenses, focus on their studies, and boost their pride.
The number of residents to be admitted is 149 (71 male students and 78 female students). Application deadlines are January 15 for current students and January 23 by 6 PM for new students. Applications can be submitted online through the Pohang Scholarship Foundation website.
New students can apply even before the university acceptance announcements are made.
Eligibility requires applicants to be freshmen or current students at universities located in the metropolitan area (Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi) and either the applicant or their guardian must have been registered as a resident in Pohang for at least one continuous year as of the announcement date.
The selection criteria allocate 100 points for lifestyle evaluation for freshmen, and for current students, 30 points for academic performance and 70 points for lifestyle evaluation. Selection is based on the highest total scores, and current students must have a minimum grade of B in the previous semester.
Additional points are awarded to socially disadvantaged individuals, children of national veterans, children from large or multicultural families, and households affected by disasters.
Seoul Pohang Dormitory is located on Muhak-ro (Jegi-dong), Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, with one basement floor and seven above-ground floors. It has 74 rooms, each shared by two students, and is accessible to students with disabilities.
To provide convenience for residents, the dormitory is equipped with a communal dining hall, fitness center, and study rooms. Each room is fully furnished with desks, beds, and wardrobes. Residents pay an affordable monthly fee of 220,000 KRW.
