"Permit Consultations Are Easier with Reservations"... Chuncheon City Implements Reservation System

From 10 AM on the 6th... Consultations available Monday to Wednesday one week after the reservation date
Expected to alleviate inconvenience due to staff absence and shorten complaint processing time

Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 2nd that starting from 10 a.m. on the 6th, it will apply a visit consultation reservation system for permit-related civil complaints handled by the Civil Complaints Officer.

The visit consultation reservation system allows civil petitioners to apply in advance for the desired date, time, and consultation field through the Chuncheon City website. After receiving the application, the Chuncheon City officer coordinates and confirms the schedule of the consultation officer to proceed with the consultation.

The application targets are five types of permit-related civil complaints within the civil service office: ▲building permits ▲building notifications ▲development activities ▲farmland conversion ▲mountain area conversion. The application period is from Monday to Wednesday every week, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Consultation schedules operate from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday of the week following the application week.

For example, if a visit consultation reservation is applied for at 10 a.m. on the 6th, the consultation schedule will be confirmed between the 13th and 15th. Consultations are held six times a day at 30-minute intervals, and if the application date or desired consultation date coincides with holidays or non-working days, the schedule is postponed to the next working day.

Through this system, Chuncheon City expects to resolve the inconvenience of having to revisit Chuncheon City Hall due to the absence of the person in charge and to shorten the civil complaint processing period.

Kim Yoon-cheol, Civil Complaints Officer of Chuncheon City, said, “Through the visit consultation reservation system, permit-related visit consultations, which have a relatively large time and economic burden compared to other civil complaints, can be conducted quickly and stably,” adding, “Since the consultation officer can also familiarize themselves with the civil complaint content in advance, it is expected to help improve the quality of civil service, so we ask for active use.”
